We have been measuring many different objects in the classroom with a variety of non-standard units of measurement and ensuring we are following the rules of measurement for height (hauteur) and length (longueur).
We even created our very own penguins and measured their height using unifix cubes and plastic blocks.
J'aime ma famille!
JK's are working on letter recognition and using a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters.
SK's are working on using proper writing strategies when writing a sentence:
starting with an uppercase and continuing with lowercase letters
using finger spacing in between words
finishing sentences with a period
We have started learning about the members of our family. How many members are in your family?
February is all about kindness! After reading the story "Have you filled a bucket today?" we created our very our classroom bucket to fill with all of our classroom kindnesses. We cannot wait to fill our classroom kindness bucket.
This heartwarming book encourages positive behavior by using the concept of an invisible bucket to show readers how easy and rewarding it is to express kindness, appreciation, and love by “filling buckets.”

100’s Day - this week we celebrated 100’s day throughout the week with: counting activities, loose parts, building, crafts and more!
STEM Challenge - what can you build with 100 Dixie cups and large popsicle sticks
Fine Motor - Groundhog day inspired quite the interest in shadows so we made our own shadow animal art!
Science - can you make 100 drops of water! (Fine motor)
Building with magnatiles
We have been very excited about this years Winter Olympics and decided to become Olympic competitors! We made our very own set of “skis” after talking about symmetry, then we designed our own "skis" and went skiing through the classroom and hallway!
Our Dragonflies and Dragonfly families worked so hard to create their very own 100’s Day fashion! With each 100’s Day shirt looking unique our Dragonflies showed off their incredible designs and celebrated being 100 days smarter! Bravo!
