Writing to our friends

The students started showing interest in writing notes, so we read The Thank you Letter by Jane Cabrera. We wrote some common letter-phrases (Dear ____, I love you, From ___ etc) on chart paper and students copied the words that they wanted in their letters.

Glitter and stickers were also provided... :)

Stories this week

We read the Crayon Box that Talked, and talked about using multiple colours in our pictures. We counted the number of colours we used in our own pictures.

We read also read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and played with letters!

This week we spent some time talking about the "-an" word family. We made words which end in -an.

Math

We've been continuing with looking at patterns and providing fun activities to create them.

Literacy

We've been reading some books and practicing sharing our thoughts about them using relevant details. We've continued practicing labeling our drawings.

We also read some Remembrance Day themed books on Peace and talked about how to be peacemakers. We learned about poppies and students could make their own if they wanted.

Gym

This month, we're exploring the equipment we have in the gym in centres. Students are having fun and developing "movement competency".
