Dear Parents/Guardians,
Greetings! As we approach the end of Term 3, we look back on a busy and fulfilling term that began with Carnival Vibrante 2025 and will close with our Teachers’ Day celebration.
Our girls have managed a wide range of experiences—weighted assessments, competitions, community service, Combined Sports Meet, National Day celebration as well as our 108th Founders’ Day commemoration. We hope they see that learning goes beyond academic results, and that every experience helps them discover their strengths and build 21st century competencies.
In September, several of our students will be participating in meaningful and exciting events such as the GENLeague 2025, Interschools PhiloJam, and the Women’s Leadership Conference. Through these activities, our girls will have opportunities to interact and collaborate with people beyond the school environment, broadening their perspectives and world views.
Balancing study with a healthy lifestyle is about finding harmony between work and play. We are glad that families are planning outings and trips during the holidays. With the MOE Academic Calendar 2026 now published, we would also like to share our school’s protected vacation periods for 2026 (please refer to the section on Planning Ahead for 2026). By providing this information early, we hope families will avoid scheduling family holidays during non-protected periods so that our students will not miss out on valuable school learning programmes.
As Term 4 approaches and final examinations draw near, we encourage our girls to set realistic goals, pace themselves, and maintain good habits such as exercising, eating well, and getting enough rest. We encourage parents and guardians to support your daughters and wards in adopting a healthy lifestyle and getting sufficient sleep. After the examinations, there will also be a variety of engaging post-exam activities that we hope will become cherished memories of the girls’ secondary school life.
Last but not least, I would like to emphasise the importance that school and parents work closely together to guide our young people against harmful vices such as vaping. As a community, we play a vital role in helping our children make informed choices that protect their health and well-being. With your strong partnership, we can instill in them the values, resilience and self-discipline needed to resist such influences and lead healthier, more purposeful lives. Please read the announcements on school-based consequences for vaping carefully so that you are well-informed and able to support your child effectively.
Let us continue to work together to keep our girls engaged, energized and healthy. Thank you.
Ms Siau Fong Fui
Principal
The Government has announced that there will be stronger enforcement and stricter penalties against vaping from 1 September 2025. MOE has also stipulated baseline (i.e., minimum) disciplinary measures for schools.
We have briefed our students on the stronger nationwide enforcement and penalties against vaping and would like to share with you our school's approach to this important issue.
Our School-Based Disciplinary Measures:
Refer to the table below on our school’s disciplinary measures for vaping. These school-based consequences are in addition to national penalties (fines) and rehabilitation programmes.
For students caught vaping, the school will mete out the disciplinary measures, adjust the conduct grade, and take educative and rehabilitative measures.
*There will be no testimonial written for a Secondary 4 student who is given Poor for her conduct grade.
The school reserves the right to include other consequences, e.g. disqualification from activities and/or school representation, scholarships and awards, and removal from leadership positions.
Students caught selling and trafficking of e-vaporisers will be considered for additional school-based consequences, including expulsion.
Our Support Approach:
All students caught vaping for the first time will receive mandatory counselling from our School Counsellor.
Students who voluntarily seek help will not face disciplinary actions.
We will engage parents directly and work together throughout any intervention.
Our school will be celebrating Teachers' Day on Thursday 4 September 2025. This year’s theme is Inside Out based on the Disney movie where different emotions are portrayed. To show their appreciation for the teachers, the students will be organising a fun and exciting concert on that day.
The students will report to school at the usual time and will be dismissed at 10:30am. This will give them time to go back to their primary school to visit their teachers.
Our Secondary 2 students have been briefed again on 21 August 2025 about the subject choices and Special Programmes offered to them in 2026.
We are pleased to share that, in collaboration with Hwa Chong Institution (HCI), Computing will be offered as a new subject option for interested Secondary 3 students from 2026.
Computing offers valuable opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills and computational thinking abilities – essential competencies in today's digital age. Students will learn programming building blocks, core computational thinking and computer science concepts. Selected students will attend lessons at HCI, with selection managed by HCI based on their criteria. Our current Secondary 2 students have already been briefed about this opportunity.

Highlights for Each Level
More details of the programmes will be shared nearer the dates. We encourage parents to hold conversations with your daughters and encourage them to leverage their character strengths to optimise their learning through these programmes.
The post exam programme dates are as shown below.
As part of our tradition, we warmly invite parents of our Secondary 1 students to join us for the year-end Inter-Class Games (ICG) on 6 November from 8.30am to 12.30pm (timing to be confirmed).
This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to cheer your daughters on, participate in friendly matches, and even enjoy some light-hearted sparring alongside them. It is always a meaningful occasion for parents to witness their daughters’ teamwork and enthusiasm, while strengthening the bonds within our school community.
Parents who are interested may sign up through the Parent Support Group. Please look out for the invitation in the Secondary 1 Cohort Parents’ WhatsApp group.
To celebrate the end of the school year, the student leaders will be organising a party – NYGHT Fiesta - at our school hall on 7 November 2025 (6.30pm - 8.30pm). This joyous gathering will be filled with fun activities, photo booths and opportunities for friends to connect, strengthening our students’ sense of community that makes our school so special.
We are excited to share more about our upcoming Global Classroom Programme to Johor, Malaysia for our Secondary 2 students. This overseas immersion supports our school's goal of nurturing our girls to become civic-minded stewards with global perspectives. The programme also aims to strengthen their 21st Century Competencies, such as civic, cross-cultural and global literacy as well as inventive and adaptive thinking. With the recent establishment of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), it is timely for our students to better understand a new development in Johor-Singapore relations within the larger global context.
During the trip, students will have the opportunity to:
Explore Johor's rich cultural heritage
Interact with students from a local Malaysian school
Gain insights into Malaysia's economy through visits to key industries (such as AI, technology and sustainable agriculture)
A detailed itinerary will be shared with parents and students once it is finalised.
The scheduled dates for the trip are as follows:
The Secondary 4 Work Experience Programme (WEP) is an optional two-week attachment that offers students real-world exposure, industry insights, and opportunities to develop independence and maturity. Students undergo applications and interviews, strengthening their sense of preparedness, resilience, and self-awareness. Now in its third year, the programme continues to prepare our students to thrive beyond the classroom.
This year’s WEP will take place from 17 to 28 November 2025.
We strongly encourage parents to plan family vacations and schedules in accordance with the school calendar. All school programmes, including celebrations such as Chinese New Year’s Eve and National Day’s Eve celebrations, are carefully designed to optimise students’ learning and development, both in and beyond the classroom. To support your planning, we are providing the school’s protected vacation period early. We hope this will help you make the necessary arrangements so that your child can participate fully in all school activities and benefit holistically from the experiences provided.
2026’s protected vacation period during the school holidays are as follows:
