Guidelines
The District Director of Health and/or her/his designee may adjust the duration of an introductory period when:
An employee is determined to be “no match” for the position.
NKY Health needs more time to evaluate whether the employee is a match for the position.
An employee should be made a "regular employee" early provided all of the following are true:
S/He at least meets expectations on all categories of the introductory performance evaluation conducted between six (6) and nine (9) months after hire into the current position.
S/He has completed training required to fully perform all job duties.
S/He has attained all required certifications.
S/He is materially performing at the same or higher level as regular employees.
Procedures
Follow these steps to adjust the duration of an Introductory Period:
The division director or administrator should work with the head of human resources to determine an appropriate adjustment for the duration of the introductory period for an employee in her/his chain-of-command.
The division director or administrator will prepare written substantiation as requested by the head of human resources.
The head of human resources will obtain appropriate approvals from both the division director and the District Director of Health and/or her/his designee.
The head of human resources will notify the employee.
