MyPURPOSE
About MyPURPOSE
MyPURPOSE is a Talent Management System that Commonwealth of Kentucky employees use to access training courses and to find and apply for state job openings. (Eventually they will complete performance plans and evaluations here too!) (See Kentucky Personnel Cabinet's MyPURPOSE page for specifics about how the state is using the MyPURPOSE.) The learning portion of MyPURPOSE is called "Commonwealth U." Commonwealth U functions as Commonwealth of Kentucky's Learning Management System (LMS).
NKY Health purchases an annual subscription to MyPURPOSE for each of its employees so that you may use the LMS portion from work (or from home if you have the necessary technology and approvals) to access and complete:
Annual required compliance training courses
Other required training courses
Training to help you meet your professional goals
You should also feel free to access and complete training to help you meet your personal goals when you are not on work time.
MyPURPOSE contains modules that have been uploaded by multiple contributors, each with their own unique style. You may prefer one contributor over another. The modules NKY Health uploaded all begin with "NKY Health" in their file name. NKY Health also uses modules from other contributors as part of its curriculum.
How to Log In to MyPURPOSE
You will need your KHRIS User ID and Password to log in to MyPURPOSE. (If you do not have them, you can use the "Forgot" links on KHRIS's portal to retrieve them.)
When you have your KHRIS User ID and Password follow these steps:
Go to the MyPURPOSE site.
Enter your User ID and Password.
Click "Login."
How to Build / Maintain Your Resume / Profile in MyPURPOSE
NKY Health will use your profile in MyPURPOSE to maintain a "resume" of your professional credentials. (NKY Health frequently uses this information for accreditation and/or program funding audits.)
You are responsible for entering the details in your profile initially and updating it anytime something changes.
Please enter and maintain the following information in the resume portion of your MyPURPOSE profile:
Education (at minimum, college and graduate school)
Work experience (at minimum, your positions at NKY Health and other positions related to your position(s) at NKY Health)
License (at minimum, your drivers license because all employees must have a valid active drivers license)
Occupational License/Certification (all licenses and certifications pertaining to your profession)
To build your initial resume / profile in MyPURPOSE follow these steps:
Access your profile. (Profile > MyProfile > Bio)
Click the "Resume" tab.
Click the "+" symbol next to each category to add a record.
Enter as many details as you can about the record.
Click "Save."
Repeat Steps 4-6 for each record.
To edit your existing resume / profile in MyPURPOSE follow these steps:
How to Find, Access and Complete Training within MyPURPOSE
All training that is assigned for you to complete within MyPURPOSE should be listed on your transcript. (Learning > Transcript.)
You can also search for other training using the "Search" box in the upper right corner of your screen. (Feel free to search for any topic of interest to you but check with your supervisor before using work time to complete any training that is not assigned on your transcript.)
Click "Launch" to access and complete any module you find.
After you complete a module click "Mark Complete" so it will be part of your completed transcript. (Note that different modules may have different requirements that you must meet before you can mark it complete.)
How to Get a Transcript of Training You Have Completed
To get a transcript of training that you have completed, follow these steps:
Access your transcript. (Learning > Transcript)
Select "Completed" from the button on the left.
Click the "..." button in the right corner of your window.
If you only want a list of certain modules, select "Run Transcript Report" then enter search parameters and click "Run Report;" if you want all modules then skip this step.
Click "Export to .PDF" to save it to a .PDF file.
or
Click "Print Transcript" to send it to a printer for a paper copy.
How to Upload Records of Outside Training to MyPURPOSE
NKY Health will use MyPURPOSE to maintain records of your job-related training. Modules that you mark as complete within MyPURPOSE will automatically be added to your transcript. You will need to upload records of modules that you complete outside of MyPURPOSE.
To upload modules that you complete outside of MyPURPOSE follow these steps:
Access your transcript. (Learning > Transcript)
Click the "..." button in the right corner of your window and select "Add External Training."
At minimum, enter the following information:
Title
Institution
Training Dates
Training Hours
Enter as much detail as you have into other fields.
Attach the following:
A certificate or other confirmation of completion (preferable).
A synopsis of the training (you can print this from your email, scan it, and attach it as a .PDF.

Type "Learning Your Way" in the Search box in the upper right corner of the screen and press Enter.
Click "Learning Your Way at Commonwealth U..." and then "Launch."
Log in to MyPURPOSE.
Click "Click here if you have questions or need assistance."
Complete and submit the form.
After you have tried everything mentioned above, please contact your supervisor. S/He will contact Human Resources if s/he cannot assist you.
