We know that dealing with a disability can be challenging, and we're here to help you understand your benefit options. Here's a breakdown of the resources available to you.
We offer short-term disability as a voluntary personal insurance option, meaning you're responsible for the full premium.
You can enroll in this benefit within 30 days of your start date without a medical review. If you decide to enroll after the 30-day window, your application will be subject to approval by the insurance underwriter.
For our employees who participate in the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA), long-term disability benefits may be an option. To learn more or begin the application process, please contact KPPA directly.
Important Note: Before you can be approved for long-term disability through KPPA, you must first request reasonable accommodations as provided for under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
You may also be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits. For more information or to start the application process, please contact the Social Security Administration directly.
Kentucky Revised Statute 61.665(2)(a) requires a disability applicant to request reasonable accommodations
