Long-Term Disability Benefts

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) offers some long-term disability benefits for employees who participate in KPPA.  Please contact KPPA directly to find out more about the benefits and/or to begin the application process.

Please note that Kentucky Revised Statute 61.665(2)(a) requires a disability applicant to request reasonable accommodations as provided for in 42 U.S.C. sec. 12111(9) and 29 C.F.R. Part 1630 through the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) prior to being approved for long-term disability benefits through KPPA

Employees who can no longer work may also be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits.  Please contact the Social Security Administration directly to find out more about the benefits and/or to begin the application process.

Short-Term Disability Benefits

Short-Term Disability Benefits are offered as voluntary personal insurance (meaning that the employee pays 100% of the premium.)

All NKY Health employees are entitled to this benefit provided they enroll within 30 days of hire.  After 30 days, it is subject to approval of underwriting.
