NKY Health's Voluntary Retirement Policy

For the complete Voluntary Retirement Policy refer to Section 4.2.8 of NKY Health's Guide to Personnel Policies.

About NKY Health's Voluntary Retirement Plan

NKY Health participates in the same voluntary retirement program offered to eligible Commonwealth of Kentucky employees.  It is managed by the Kentucky Deferred Compensation Authority (KDC), and administered by Nationwide Insurance. KDC is attached to the Personnel Cabinet.

It is separate from the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) program, which is mandatory for all eligible employees.

The program is completely voluntary and is available to all NKY Health employees who enroll.  Contract employees may only contribute a percentage of their pay since their earnings may vary by pay period.

NKY Health does not match employee contributions because we are already paying so much into Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA)  for eligible merit system employees.

Starting/Stopping/Changing Contributions to Voluntary Retirement (Enrollment / Change Form)

Employees can begin participating, change contribution amounts and designations, and/or stop participating at any time subject to IRS guidelines for each plan

To start, stop, or change withholding amounts and/or investment elections please contact the Kentucky Deferred Compensation Authority directly.
