Voluntary Retirement Plans
(401(k), IRA, + Other Options)

NKY Health participates in the same voluntary retirement program offered to eligible Commonwealth of Kentucky employees. This program is completely voluntary and is available to all NKY Health employees who enroll.

It's helpful to know that this plan is managed by the Kentucky Deferred Compensation Authority (KDC) and administered by Nationwide Insurance. This is a separate program from the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA), which is the mandatory retirement program for all eligible employees.

Please keep in mind that NKY Health does not match employee contributions, as we already contribute significantly to the mandatory KPPA plan for eligible merit system employees. A special note for contract employees: you may only contribute a percentage of your pay, as your earnings may vary by pay period.

It's easy to start, change, or stop your retirement contributions whenever you're ready! Simply contact the Kentucky Deferred Compensation Authority directly to manage your account.  They will ensure your changes comply with all applicable IRS guidelines.

After you've submitted your documents, the Kentucky Deferred Compensation Authority will notify NKY Health of any payroll changes, so you don't have to worry about a thing.

Employees who have a 401(k) or other retirement plan from another employer may be able to roll these funds into this plan.
