An employee will be appointed to one of the following appointment types:

  1. Interim

  2. Emergency

  3. Regular

2.5.1 Interim Appointment Type

An interim appointment is an appointment to an established position. The appointment is temporary and ends at a time or event as specified when the appointment is made.

2.5.2 Emergency Appointment Type

An emergency appointment is an appointment to a newly created position as a result of an unforeseen need or circumstance. The appointment is temporary and ends when the need no longer exists or when a regular position to satisfy the need is created and filled.

2.5.3 Regular Appointment Type

A regular appointment is an appointment to an established position. The appointment is neither an interim nor an emergency appointment.
