What is physiology?
Physiology explains the functions of life or living matter like organs, tissues and cells.
Physiology is subdivided into several small groups like neurophysiology, cardiovascular physiology, pathophysiology, and respiratory physiology.

Physiology Subdivisions:
Cardiovascular Physiology- Examines the functioning of the heart, blood vessels, and the blood
Neurophysiology- Examines how nerve impulses are propagated throughout the nervous system
Respiratory Physiology- Examines how respiratory gases are transferred by gas exchange between lungs and blood vessels
Reproductive Physiology- Examines how the regulation of reproductive hormones can drive the reproductive cycle and influence sex cell production and maturation
Pathophysiology- Examines the relationship between a functioning organ system and disease or injury to that organ system
