Anatomy and Physiology Student Testimonials
Hi, my name is Katelyn. I am planning on going into the nursing program here at NICC. I had the opportunity of taking Anatomy and Physiology I & II with Professor Clegg online. I was not sure how this class would be online especially with the lab also being online. Professor Clegg took the content and layed it out in a very helpful and creative way. I was able to see anatomy and physiology not just on my screen, but relate it to how it is around us everyday. I would highly recommend taking this class, online or in person.
Hey there! My name is Erin. I decided to start my career in the nursing field in January of 2022. I chose NICC since it is close to my home and I have heard many great things about the nursing program from friends and family. By taking Anatomy and Physiology I & II I have familiarized myself with the human body which will help me excel in my career path! I highly recommend taking both of these classes, especially if it is with Professor Clegg, she cares about her students and always responds to questions rapidly. Thank you for reading my personal testimonial and I hope you learned new information by browsing our website.
Hello! My name is Skylar and I am currently attending NICC for the second time, this time for nursing. I graduated in 2018 from the dental assisting program. Anatomy has been a large part of my career and I wish I had taken it sooner. Anatomy and Physiology plays such a huge role in the health care education system and really is the base of all education in regards to caring for people. I am currently enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology II online with Professor Clegg after taking Anatomy and Physiology I with Professor Snyder. I was very worried about taking this class as it is so much information and so important for my future career but this experience has been amazing. I have learned so much since starting this class through NICC and find myself applying my knowledge every day. Professor Clegg has been so helpful with applying Anatomy to real life and that has really taught me a new way of learning. Both of my professors were very easy to get ahold of and wanted me to excel in their classes. I highly recommend taking Anatomy and Physiology online with either professor!
Hey-o! My name is Briley and I have attended NICC since the fall of 2021. I am currently a senior in high school who is taking some dual-credit classes here. Once I graduate, I plan on attending Allen College to pursue my dream career in ultrasound. I decided to take Anatomy and Physiology I because it was a prerequisite for the ultrasound program, but also because the topic has always interested me. Going into an online class with so little background information on such a hard topic wasn't easy for me. I was very nervous with low confidence. Professor Clegg is truly the most personable and caring teacher I have ever had. Anytime you need anything, you can always contact her and she is happy to help. From her lecture videos to her Coffee With Clegg segments, all the tools you need to succeed in this class are accessible to you. With such a difficult class, encouragement and reinforcement is always needed for any student. You get plenty of encouragement and uplifting, which will motivate you to keep pushing through. Next thing you know, it's already two weeks until the end of the semester. There is a lot of information to take in with this class, but like Professor Clegg always says...no learning ever gets wasted!
Hi all! My name is Tarah and I am a non-traditional student, meaning I came back to school after being an oral surgery assistant for 23 years! I was incredibly nervous to start classes again after being away for so long and the thought of them being online scared me even more! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Professor Clegg had great lecture videos and lab activities, always being prompt with responses if there was a question, extra help if something wasn't quite clear, and making sure I had the resources I needed to succeed. She also taught me what kind of learner I was to help me better understand how I needed to study to be successful. I 100% recommend if you're thinking about taking classes, give them a try!
Hi, my name is Mady, this is now my second semester with Clegg. Having a completely online class was kind of hard in the begining but I eventually figured it out. I work as a cna, which can be a very eventful job. Every one of my residents ask if I am going to become a nurse but, I actually am taking classes at NICC to become a radiology tech. A year ago I had surgery on my wrist and I got to the x-ray of my own hand, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. After that I researched if NICC had a program for an x-ray tech and they do. I then enrolled in Cleggs class for my pre-reqs, it was a bumpy road at first and still sometimes is, but I found the powerpoints to each chapter and they are what get me through. I learn best by looking at something and then taking notes and so the powerpoints are super helpful, I take my notes from it and then whenever I need to I can look back on them. Taking an online class is difficult but Clegg offers good resources and her time, which has made taking her class a lot easier.
Greetings:) My name is Lainee Evanson, and this is my second semester with Clegg! I work a full-time job at a factory during the weekdays, and a part-time job as a resident assistant on the weekends. With that being said, it can be super hard to complete some of my homework assignments outside of class. I found it fairly easy to begin my assignments in Clegg's class. After high school, I took a gap year, because I wasn't quite sure what career I wanted to pursue. I am currently receiving my Associate of Arts degree in plans to transfer to a University. Normally, I wouldn't consider a career in healthcare, however with time from this class, I have considered it. Anatomy was defiantly a new concept for me, and I have grown quite fond of it. This Anatomy and Physiology course has been one of the best courses to take while working independently, but with others!
Hi, my name is Kerry, and this is my second year at NICC. I am not your typical college student, I decided to go to college after working for nearly ten years at a large retail company. After, speaking with some friends that work in the Health Information Technology field I decided that was the career for me. This is the third Clegg class that I have taken since starting at NICC in the fall of 2021. I would have to say that of all the classes I have taken so far the classes with Professor Clegg have always been my favorite. Taking online classes can be very challenging at times, but Professor Clegg has always provided a lot of resources for us and she is always willing to take time out of her own busy schedule to answers any questions that I have had. I never would have thought I would actually enjoy taking an Anatomy and Physiology class, but Professor Clegg has made that possible.
My students are too kind and give me too much credit :) They do the work! However, I recently sat in on an HIT program meeting and one of the comments was that an HIT student said they "wished they had completed the RHIT testing immediately" I wanted to make sure and pass this on, as many students may be intimidated by these certification tests. If you want more insight from an HIT student directly, just reach out!
