Scholars will use their handwriting sheet or white board to practice spelling CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. Please use the list on the left, but try encouraging them to use their sounds instead of helping them spell/write. It's important not to correct misspelled CVC words, as long as they have the correct sounds in place. Sight word practice is for recognition, not spelling. (Ex: Parent "The word is be...the word is ____" child says the word this time.
