Science

The end of the year is here, and that means it is a wrap for science. What do science teachers think of the year in total? Ms. Merrill, an Eighth grade and Seventh grade science teacher said the highlight of the year was "Anytime we played with fire and the seventh graders building earthquake proof structures." Do the students agree? Oakley Toulepe who is in Eighth grade said his favorite science activity was The Lorax. A little different than Ms. Merrill, but still cool. Here is what the Seventh grade Science students did.

Seventh grade science

The seventh graders science teachers are Ms. Merrill and Mr. Dahl. Some of the stuff they learn are cells and the parts of cells, and reproduction. James Gardner who has Ms. Merrill for science said his favorite thing was Newtons Laws. Sounds like fun. James has Ms. Merrill, and he really likes her. Both Mr. Dahl and Ms. Merrill have fun activities and good lessons.

Eighth Grade science

This year in eighth grade science, the students at our school learned about photosynthesis, sound and light waves, and ecosystems, along with Newton's three laws. The science teachers for 8th are Mrs. Paxton, Mr. Jensen, and Ms. Merrill. This year was really fun for science, and during the final week of school they are doing more activities. They are tie dying shirts, and making ice cream for the final hoorah.

Ninth grade science

Ninth grade science students are coming to the end of their Junior High science curriculum. In Biology, students learned about how we came to our modern understanding of D.N.A. and also about ecology. They dissected dog fish, fetal pigs, and of course frogs. Earth Systems learned about space along with precipitation. They did projects about a certain planet, and figured out how to survive on each one. Next year they are onto High School science, and Alan Ruiz is looking forward to it. He says the thing he is most excited about for next year is the experiments and launching rockets.
