In Springville Junior High's English classes the students are busy learning. In the seventh grade classes, they are learning about internal and external text structures. They are also starting a new unit and making brochures. They have also been busy reading Freak The Mighty by Rodman Philbrick.

In the eighth grade classes at Springville Junior High, they are reading The Children Of Topaz, by George W. Chilcoat. This book is all about the Japanese Interment Camps, during World War Two. In the eighth grade classes they are learning how to write journals like the kids did at the camps. Before they read Children Of Topaz, they were reading The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton. Everyone seemed to really like this book. When they finished the book they watched the movie in class.

Springville Junior High's ninth grade English classes are learning lots of new stuff. Right now, they are focusing on elaboration, along with explaining evidence. The students are also reading short stories. In all, each grade is busy learning new concepts and perfecting their knowledge.
