Mr. Anderson's 9th grade and Mrs. Jackson's 7th grade 3rd period classes

This year math has been off to a great start. Hanah Cornaby, a student in Mr. Anderson's class said, "Math has been harder then last year, it's more rewarding." The ninth graders in math honors with Mr. Anderson have been working on matrices a lot this term and graphing equations. They have to get 80% or more on their assignments otherwise they have to take the end of term test. Emily Snyder, a student in that class, says, "It's stressful and challenging, but it also helps us keep our grades up." In ninth grade regular math they have been working on graphing inequality lines and shading. Maia Kentjana Putra, one of the students in Mrs. Gleave's class said about her, "She will teach anyone well who needs her help." Maya also said Mrs. Gleave teaches the information really well and she understands the concepts a lot.

In 8th grade honors math they have been learning a lot. Elizabella Francom, one of the students in Mrs Gleave's class said they are, "working on the Pythagorean theorem and geometry." They are also about to start finding the distance between 2 points on a coordinate plane. Elizabella really likes her class, but understandably not all of the homework that comes with it. In 8th regular math they have been learning about something much different. Cheyenne Skinner, a student in Mrs. Johnson's class said they are learning about Elimination, linear equations and graphs. She says Mrs. Johnson is a great teacher too. Payton Evans also really likes her class and Mrs. Johnson teaches the class really well.

In 7th grade regular math, Mrs. Jackson's class is learning a lot. Giovanni, one of her students said, "We are learning how to solve equations, use order of operations, and are currently learning the different math properties." He likes his class and solving the different equations. Mrs. Jackson is also a good teacher. Mrs. Jackson also teaches 7th grade honors. She said they have been learning, "patience, hard work, thinking, oh and lots and lots of math!" Every day they grade and discuss the topic from the day before. If everyone understands it they move to a new topic and start that. They get enough homework so they are confident in the topic, but not sick of it. She loves her students, she said about them, "My kids are amazing!!! So lucky to teach them." Her favorite part about teaching math is that it's something different everyday and it's cool to see kids get excited about what they have accomplished in the class. Hopefully next semester is just as great and fulfilling as this term!
