Clubs

National Jr. Honor Society

At SJHS, there are many clubs, organizations, and teams. In National Jr. Honor society each member must have a total of 20 service hours and then attend the big service project held at the end of each semester. This semesters service project was at Tabitha's way, members had the opportunity to fill around 40 large boxes of food and clothes for those in need. "It was extremely cold, but overall an amazing experience to be apart of." Says Molly Hunter the Honor Society president.

FFA Green hands

Also at SJHS there is program called FFA which represents Future Farmers of America. In this program you learn about many different things such as agriculture. FFA is a program which helps kids throughout America become better friends and farmers. Today, the National FFA organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Student Council

Our student council members are, Christine White, McKay Dalley, Joseph Hammond, Jaden Tate, Scout Benson, Molly Hunter, Alexi Love, Gavin Jones, Brenna Carlton, Jacob Follete, Jesus Hernandez, and Johana Meza. They have had their hands full planning dances, red ribbon week, and other holiday fun. “I love getting to know these kids! They are all so great! I love being involved in the school directly with students outside of a regular classroom setting.” Stated Mrs. Murray one of the teachers in charge of student council.

After school clubs

Everyday after school SJHS hold clubs in the library from 2:00 - 3:30 PM on Mondays and 2:45 - 4:15 PM Tuesday thru Friday. There is always a snack provided. The first half hour is used to work on homework and play games. After that we separate into clubs. Clubs we have right now are science, Japanese culture, coding, board games, cooking, and crafting. Anyone is welcome to join, and they are always open to suggestions.

PTSA

PTSA stands for Parent Teacher Student Association. PTSA is a volunteer association where parents, educators, students, and other citizens can be active in their schools and communities. SJHS has there own PTSA group. The over all president is Tess Jones, and the student president is Jenny Walentine. They had a fun service project at Jaker's this past October picking pumpkins and helping to set them up.
