Utah History

Throughout the year in seventh grade history they have been learning about Utah and its features. At first they learned about the counties and their seats of Utah. The next topic and unit they had was the geography of the state. After that the seventh graders learned about what Native Americans lived in this extravagant state. Then came the section they had all been waiting for, Mormons. They learned about the Mormons migration to the haven of Utah or their own promised land. They learned all of Utah's history up to WWII. The most memorable unit for Andrew Strong was that of Mormon's because it was the longest unit and he already knew about it.

U.S. History

In eighth grade they have been learning about what happened to make up this nation that we live in. First the 8th graders learned the 50 states and their capitols. Next, they decided to go over Native Americans again and the Salem witch trials, which I must say is pretty sad. Then they pulled it all together with the Civil War and the causes of it.

World History and Geography

The ninth graders at Springville Junior High have gained a lot of knowledge pertaining to our world and its history. At first they learned of the five global concepts. Then they talked about Continents and from there they moved on to the eight features of a Civilization. Following that they learned about world innovators, world languages, world religions, revolutions, imperialism, world economies, world governments, and world leaders. In term four they learned about world wars and the Holocaust. They continued by learning about world population issues, world environmental problems/disasters, humans utilizing their environment, and lastly world cultures.
