Mt.Vernon was torn after the loss against Lamar on Friday, October 2. The boys struggled after three straight incompletions. That night, Mount Vernon faced a fourth-and-10 from the Lamar 37-yard line, pushing the boys farther back making it hard for them to go anywhere.

“We had made it into the red zone two or three times and just couldn’t convert a touchdown. We also struggled with moving the ball down the field,” senior offensive tackle Gavynn Gann says. “I felt that after Lamar scored their first touchdown, everything immediately went quiet for our sidelines and fans.”

“I would just say that Lamar is a great team and program, and we have a lot of respect for them, starting quarterback Mason Ballay says.

Finishing the game 33-0, the boys walked off the field devastated as ever.
