Amy Coney Barrett sworn in October 26

On October 26, Judge Amy Coney Barrett was appointed as the 115th Associate Justice on the Supreme Court, the fifth woman to serve on the court. President Donald Trump supposedly said he was “saving” Judge Barrett to replace late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, according to the BBC.

As a conservative, Barrett has plans to serve almost the opposite political stance of Ginsburg. Her confirmation almost ensures pushing the court firmly to the right.

Pandemic causes rise in online sales

Christmas is typically a fun and festive time of year, with people everywhere in a hundred different stores at a time shopping for presents. This year may be a little more stressful, however. With stores only limited to a certain amount of people, Christmas shopping may be a bit more difficult.

The safest way to have a good Christmas this year is to go shopping online. Online shopping can keep you and everyone around you safe. Most stores will be packed with people trying to buy and shop for their loved ones. However, with a lot of people shopping online, we may need to expect shipment delays. Ordering ahead of time would be a smart choice due to multiple people shopping from the same sites. Amazon, Ebay, and Etsy will most likely be the most popular online site that people turn to.

Black Friday was still a-go this year, but most places required masks. While there were in-store sales, retailers highly encouraged shopping online this year, which means many took advantage of more online deals than usual. This year we saw Black Friday bleed into “Cyber Monday," allowing people who chose to shop in-person to better social distance.

Stay safe this Christmas season and have a great holiday!
