  • Support for equipment lasts 5 years from when it is deployed. The year of deployment can be determined with the first two numbers of the asset tag, i.e. 12###### was deployed the 2011-2012 school year.

  • Personal laptops and devices are not supported by the technology department.

    • Personal laptops and devices can be brought on site, but are only allowed to connect to the MJUSD Student network via WiFi.

  • SchoolDude tickets need to be made for any incident and request sent to the Technology Department. Tickets are used to track trending issues and inquiries.

  • Everyone is provisioned an mjusd.com email address, which forwards to mjusd.k12.ca.us, which in turn is used to sign into the MJUSD Google enterprise account. Mjusdclassroom.com is a domain used for teachers to log into their Windows computers.

  • Devices should follow a naming convention in the district.

    • Standard computer hostnames are "########-XXX", where the leading numbers are the asset tag and the ending letters are the school site code

      • Ex: 12000641-MHS

    • Nutrition Service computer hostnames deviate from the standard by inserting an "ns" for Nutrition Services and the line number, with 0 representing the manager station, after the school site code.

      • Ex: 15000298-LHSns0

    • Printer hostnames are "XXXrm#-<model>", where the leading letters are the school site code, followed by the room number, and ending with the device model number

      • Ex: MCKrm6-P4041

    • iPads get automatically named in Mosyle as "########-XXX #", where the leading numbers are the asset tag and the ending letter/number combo is the site code and room number

      • Ex: 20001234-ARB 1

  • MJUSD Technology does not support Apple Macs, iMacs, or MacBooks
