iPads purchased directly from Apple
Turn on iPad
Select English
Select United States
Tap on Set Up Manually
Connect to the Student Wi-Fi network
Tap Next on the Remote Management screen
If an error shows that the iPad cannot connect to the remote management server, then keep tapping on Try Again. If the error keeps showing, then wait an hour
Tap Continue on the Appearance screen
Tap Get Started
Go to the Management tab> Devices (Bulk Operations)> Device Enrollment
Find the iPad with the serial number and update the Asset Tag
Go to the My District or My School tab> Students
Click on Add new student
Enter in the iPad serial number as the Name
Enter in the iPad serial number as the User ID
Create a fake email address that includes the iPad serial number and school site code
Example: CTQ7W7LYJH@ygs.mjusd.com
Uncheck Send welcome e-mail with the first steps
Ignore the Managed Apple ID option
Select Student as the Account type
Set the Account to the appropriate location
Select the appropriate grade level
Ignore class periods
Click Save
Click Assign one device
Click Select device
Search for the iPad by serial number and select it
Click the checkmark in the top right
Click Assign and Confirm
Go to the Management tab> Devices (Bulk Operations)> Device Enrollment
Find the iPad with the serial number and update the Asset Tag
Click on the iPad name
Click to Change the Type
Select Changed to Shared in the drop-down menu
Click Select group
Select the appropriate group
Click the checkmark in the top right
Click Save and Confirm
