Schedule Change Policy

Students are encouraged to consider very carefully the courses being selected for the upcoming school year.  The number of students selecting a course during registration determines the number of sections of that course that will be offered, and the staff assigned to this school.  These decisions are made by June 1.  After that time it may not be possible to make a change in a student’s schedule.  Schedule changes that are initiated after the school year begins are disruptive to the student’s educational program.  There are situations, however, that require a schedule change.  Students may not request a schedule change based on teacher preference.  Course-alike sections must be balanced.  Students may appeal a denial of a schedule change to the principal.  Approved reasons for making a schedule change (after June 1) are listed below:
