Rights & Responsibilities
MCPS remains resolute in upholding the Montgomery County Board of Education’s visionary goals, outlined
in Board Policy JFA, Student Rights and Responsibilities. These goals encompass the creation of a learning
community that fosters intellectual development, citizenship, responsibility, and mutual respect among
both staff and students. We firmly believe that every member of our diverse school community shares the
responsibility to create, honor, and support an environment that nurtures learning, while recognizing and
honoring the inherent dignity of all students, parents/guardians, and staff.
