National Honor Society

Juniors and Seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or greater (weighted or un-weighted) are eligible for induction to the National Honor Society.  Other membership requirements are leadership, service, and character.  Leadership is demonstrated through elected office of a club or organization or another position of responsibility in school or the community.  Service is any qualifying service at school or in the community.  Teachers attest to applicants’ character by the completion of forms provided in the NHS application packet.  An induction of new members occurs in the spring. Membership is not automatically conferred upon application.  The following guidelines elaborate on the definition of leadership, service and character:

Members who fall below the standards that were the basis for their selection may be dismissed from the NHS.  Members must maintain at least the 3.5 GPA. Ongoing membership is also subject to adherence to service requirements, school rules and civic laws

Students at Quince Orchard earn recognition for outstanding achievement in a variety of Honor Societies sponsored by Quince Orchard teachers.  Members of these groups offer service to the school in various ways, such as offering free tutoring at lunch each day.  Each of these societies honors their members at graduation by the cords students wear signifying their participation in their Honor Society (ies).  These societies are instrumental in the success of our school and we applaud these students for their accomplishments and thank them for their help.
