Shrek the Musical Jr. at MJS
Congratulations to the cast, crew and directors of Shrek the Musical Jr. Performance weekend was great and all that saw the show loved it! The stage was filled with talent and we are so proud of everyone!
All City Band and Orchestra Concert
On Wednesday, the All City Band and Orchestra had their concert. The two all city ensembles are made up of 5th-8th grade students from our elementary schools and middle school. The music directors recommend students to participate in these honors ensembles. Rehearsals were held once a week after school for the past few months. The concert was great and we even had a special guest during the band performance. Congratulations to our student performers and directors for a great concert!
Security Vestibule Construction Progress
Progress continues to be made on the Security Vestibule project at MJS. The old door frames were removed this past week and by the time we get back from Spring Break the new entry door way and doors should be up!.
Connect and Reflect with Mr. Perrone
Connection and reflection continue to be two important parts of MJS ONE. It is important for me to stay connected with our families as each of you play an important role in your child’s education. I am excited to host our third Connect and Reflect session with our families. This will provide an opportunity for families to come together with me in person or virtually to connect and reflect on any topics relating to MJS.
Our new Chief School Administrator, Mrs. Danielle Shanley will be present as our guest!
We will host our third Connect and Reflect with Mr. Perrone on Tuesday April 9th at 9:30am in the MJS Media Center.
2nd Annual Great MJS Bake Off!
On Wednesday our staff participated in the 2nd Annual Great MJS Bake Off to help send everyone off to Spring Break. All staff had the opportunity to bring in a homemade baked item to secure a spot and to have the possibility to win the prestigious MJS Bake Off Trophy 🏆. Staff voted for the best baked treat throughout the day to find the winner. Congratulations to Mrs. Young and her Lemon Tiramisu!

Important Information
Technology Reminder about Student Chromebook Usage
In Madison, we utilize a 1:1 Chromebook model where all students (grades 6-12) receive a district owned Chromebook to utilize during the school day and at home. While there is no cost for the use of the Chromebook, it is important that Chromebooks be maintained and handled in a responsible way. As we continue to move through the school year, we wanted to utilize this time as a reminder for our students and families about the importance of handling Chromebooks with care to prevent damage to the device. The district has expectations and protocols that are listed on the district website that we continue to follow at the building level.
We would like to highlight the specific section regarding lost and damaged chromebooks as a reminder to all parents and guardians:
In the event a Chromebook, case, or charger is lost or damaged beyond repair, parents/guardians are responsible for paying the cost of replacement equipment.
Costs:
Chromebook - $365.00
Charger - $47.00
Case - $20.00
Other - Will be quoted by the Tech Department
Note: Final assessment of damage and fines are determined by the Technology Department.
Students are also responsible for the care of any loaners they use. Damage to loaners is subject to the same rules as permanently assigned Chromebooks.
In case of theft, parents/guardians are required to file a formal police report with the Madison Police Department.
Below are the direct links from the district website that pertains to Chromebook care and protocols followed for lost/damaged Chromebooks.
