Year 9 MYP Graduation Ceremony

MYP graduation assembly

As the culmination of their MYP journey, our Year 9 students attended a ‘Graduation Assembly’ which celebrated their successes over their three years with us and marked the beginning of their GCSE journey. As MYP students they have successfully studied subjects across the curriculum, while also developed approaches to learning that will allow continued success. They have faced the challenges of virtual lessons and missed time in the classroom with teachers and with friends and developed into responsible and resilient learners.

They are also the first cohort of learners who have all had the opportunity to complete the Community Project in tutor time and during Healthy Minds lessons. It was lovely to hear from Alexandru and Kiwi who spoke confidently about the projects that their groups completed and how they contributed to the local community. There were varied projects that took place from collections for the local foodbank, dog walking, anti-bullying campaigns; fitness programmes and care packages for cancer sufferers. These projects certainly had an impact on the local community with the following message being put on a local facebook forum “....”

While all students gained certificates for completion of the MYP and the Community Project, special mention was given to the following students:

Best Project: Alexandru, Ruby and Paige

Most Inspiring Project: Jadeena, Ben and Lilly

Outstanding Individual Effort: Kiwi
