About Me-

I am an imaginative and creative teenage boy who enjoys taking pictures of things that interest me. My pictures are based around it's subject and search for methods to show it in new and unfamiliar ways; I often experiment with many different photographs of the same thing.

I love photographing anything and everything that i find interesting, however, some of my common themes include landscape, architecture, and automobile photography.

Often, my pictures are left unedited to show it in it's natural and raw form. I feel that this gives a certain level of authenticity that is sometimes lacking on fully edited photos. Despite that, editing is still an important part of my process, generally resulting in a black and white or distorted picture.

On this page will be an increasingly vast catalog of object, items, or places that I find intriguing enough to photograph throughout the weeks to come.

Reflection Questions:

1. I believe that this collection of photographs shows my progress throughout the seven weeks as well as who I am as a photographer. Each week I attempted to challenge myself to create photos with various limitations or specific goals that I wanted to achieve through them. Though I do not edit often, I have learned more about editing in the past two months than anytime previously, most importantly, I learned what editing styles and techniques I enjoy on my pictures allowing them to rise to their full potential.

2. & 3. I made it an overall goal of mine to use as many photography techniques as well as the elements and principles of art to create the most objectively well made pictures possible. I utilized the 'rule of thirds' when composing every picture and tried to interconnect existing lines and non-existent lines to visually tie the entire photograph together. I also actively tried to gain unknown or uncommon view points to make my pictures interesting and eye catching.

4. As a whole, this collection of pictures reveal who I am as a person in terms of my interests and what exactly I find appealing and fun to photograph. They show my progression throughout the class and taught me to seek out the pictures that I want because they will rarely come to me. Each entry shows an adventure that I went on that particular week, regardless if it was an adventure around the school or stumbling across huge bridge ready to be photographed and shared with the world.

5. I think that, naturally, some weeks and some particular pictures are more near to my heart than others; specifically, some of the pictures were taken too quickly or incredibly forced and that is exactly how they came out, while other parts of the collection are some of my favorite pictures that I've ever taken, such as a few of the rainy day pictures and some of the car photography. I wish I had been able to visit places with amazing landscapes or high rise buildings that I could capture though I feel that I captured HVA and rural Knoxville pretty well. All and all, I really enjoyed this project, it allowed for much personal grown as well as the knowledge of what makes a truly good picture.

Week 6:

For this week I chose to focus on the lack of focus, my camera malfunctioned though I decided to run with it. I tried to use the problem as the solution, making the lack of focus the central theme and message of each photograph. I really enjoy how this experiment turned out, hope you do as well!

Week 5:

For this week I wanted to capture beauty and intrigue in the everyday objects and scenes within Hardin Valley Academy.

Week 4:

This week I decided to go exploring and to let the pictures find me, this is the documentation, please enjoy.

Week 3:

For this week I have chosen to make a small collection of pictures featuring HVA on a rainy day; I set out to capture the tone of changing seasons, specifically summer into winter.

For the second week, I chose to focus on repetition in and surrounding HVA.

week 1:
