For my Independent study project, I will be focusing on capturing photographs that utilize lighting, the depth of field, and angles. I will be executing this by taking pictures of my everyday life, nature, and people. I will concentrate on using editing tools such as contrast, saturation, and highlights.
Reflection:
In the past seven weeks I have pushed myself to focus on the things that surround me daily and how I can capture them. Every week I choose different area to focus on and take pictures. With my pictures I wanted to use lighting, variety, contrast, and rhythm to make my photos more interesting.
My photos have used a combination of elements and principles to make them more interesting. I worked on using the rule of thirds to shift the viewer's focus to the main part of the picture. I also used point of view and angles to make normal areas and objects look much more interesting and different.
Each of my pictures tell a different story, most of my pictures are of things I see daily and never think about. I wanted to change how I saw ordinary objects and things by capturing them in different ways. Editing also helped me to change my pictures from basic to interesting.
I think I was successful in my independent study overall. There are some pictures I am very proud of, I loved the area I was taking photos and the angles I used. Other weeks I wasn’t as fond of my works, however I still enjoyed taking photos and editing them into my page. I learned that I love taking photos of people and things in a way that shows a different side to them. I hope to continue taking photos of others and nature.
