For my independent study I'm going to be focusing on outdoors photography/nature photography so I can explore the outdoors more and see what i can do behind the camera. I would also like to take photos of my pets and while doing this i will use angles and lighting to make the photos pop or be more appealing. Finding new editing techniques and filters will be something I would like to focus on as well.
1. The main things i focused on were taking pictures of my pets and the outdoors. This allowed me to walk around the area close to my house and take pictures of things i had never noticed before, as well as exploring new places I've never been to before. When editing i mostly used saturation to bring some life back to the images as well as making them dark with exposure so that its easier to see the difference of the foreground and the background.
2&3. Some of the elements and principle I used would be line, color, value, and emphasis. Line was used with the pictures of my dog sitting in the sun with the outline of my blinds or door casting a shadow on her. Color is used in almost all of my photos and value is used in a couple of my photos taken as the sun was setting through the trees creating an outline. Emphasis was used in the photos i only had one thing in the frame and only focused on that. I did use some techniques such as framing, cropping and angles to give my photos a better quality.
4. There really isn't a meaning behind any of these photos, if i saw something i thought would look good in a photo i would take a picture of it. Just by looking at these photos it just reminds me of my life. I spend every single day with my dogs and I go out with my friends I would try and take photos of the nature that was around me.
5. The photos i am the most proud of would be the one of my dog sitting with the shadows on her, the image of the water with the clouds above it, and the sunset photos because of how I edited them. i do wish i had a chance to go downtown and get some cool shots of it at night or even during the day. What i learned by doing this project is that you can find some interesting things to take pictures of if you just look.
