For my independent study, I am focusing on using depth of field. Some themes you will probably see are portraits, animal photography, etc. Some editing techniques that I will include will be black and white filters, exposure settings, and color changes (filters, enhancements, etc.)
Week 7 (12/02-12/06): For this weeks' independent study, I have a few themes. One is nature vs. man so like leaves or grass next to a man-made object. I also explored landscape photography and "lamp photography." I used filters in some of my photos as an editing tool to enhance the photos.
Week 6 (11/25-11/29): This week was Thanksgiving break and every Thanksgiving, my family travels to MS to see my dad's family. I decided to take my camera with me and take some photos for this weeks' independent study. Most of the photos I took were portrait style but I uploaded one that spoke to my aesthetic. The only edits I used were black and white filters.
Week 5 (11/18-11/22): This week, I saw Hardin Valley's theater production of Clue and took my camera along with me for this weeks' independent study project. The editing tool I used was exposure settings.
Week 4 (11/11-11/15): This week, I decided to take pictures of some of the hands that have touched, or impacted my life the most. All of these hands belong to my family members. The only editing I used for these were a few filters.
Week 3 (11/04-11/08): I recently found out that I will be moving to Georgia, so for this weeks' independent study, I decided to take photos of things that remind me of the move (as a means of coping, I guess). The main editing technique I used was the black and white filter because it makes the photos more sentimental.
Week 2 (10/28-11/01): For this week's independent study, I decided to focus on portraits and animal photography. An editing technique I explored was the sharpening tool.
Week 1 (10/21-10/25): This week I decided to capture rustic and overlooked objects as well as focus on people and practice portrait-style photography. The edits I used were filters.
