The Apaches had a god. He was named Ysun (U-sun) which meant giver of life. Ysun taught the Apaches how to live. This Native American tribe believed that everything was given life and every bear and owl was a form of spirit sent down to hurt the Apaches. The Apaches were formerly from New Mexico but several groups migrated to Texas. Most of their years were spent at war with other tribes - usually the Comanches because they stole their hunting land. Geronimo was the feared Apache leader.
