The Comanche tribe lived in large groups called bands. Bands were made up of made up of many families who lived and hunted together. They could be as big as 3,000 people. Bands had names for the food they ate like the buffalo eaters, the root eaters, and the honey eaters. Comanche families were made up of parents, children, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Grandparents helped with chores in and around the tepee and looked after children. The men are the heads of the family's.
