O / Apache / Children

BY: Haley

The Apache tribe loved their children. A new Apache was named by its father. A child Apache is a prized member of the Apache tribe. When a baby Apache is born it will be faced in all four directions including the sun. The Apaches realized that a crying baby would give away the location to the enemies, so they were taught at a very early age the importance of being quiet. When the first year starts boy Apaches would get a short haircut but only leave a few long strands of hair. They never cut their hair again. When children were around six they were expected to help with chores and daily life. The young Apaches learned how to do things very early. When the boys grew older they were encouraged to become brave, strong warriors.
