The Comanche lived in tepees so they could travel for buffalo hunts. Tepees were easy to move from place to place. They moved across the southern great plains in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. The doors to the tepees always faced the rising sun. The tepees were made of poles covered in buffalo hides. The women put up the poles and the men covered the poles. The poles were 14 feet tall. The Comanche lived in groups called bands. Bands had their own village of tepees.
