Forensic Science is a year-long science elective that uses scientific investigation to explore how evidence can help solve crimes. Students learn how crime scenes are processed and how physical evidence is collected, preserved, analyzed, and interpreted.
At Kealakehe High School, students apply science through case-based activities involving fingerprints, DNA, blood-spatter patterns, ballistics, toxicology, forensic entomology, anthropology, and virtual autopsy investigations. The course emphasizes observation, evidence analysis, problem solving, and the scientific reasoning used in forensic careers.
