Probability & Statistics
Designed for students who want to strengthen their ability to use mathematics in real-world situations, this year-long course combines Probability (Semester 1) and Statistics (Semester 2). Students develop skills that are useful in science, business, technology, social sciences, and everyday decision-making.
In Probability, students explore chance, risk, and uncertainty through real-world applications such as science, insurance, investment, business, and technology. Students learn how probability can be used to analyze situations and make informed decisions. In Statistics, students learn how to collect, organize, display, analyze, and interpret data using graphs, measures of central tendency and variation, frequency distributions, correlation, and regression.
Throughout both semesters, students apply mathematical reasoning to real data and practical situations, using technology when appropriate to identify patterns, evaluate information, and draw conclusions from evidence.
