AP STATISTICS
Designed for students who are interested in understanding data and how statistics are used to make decisions, AP Statistics is a year-long, college-level mathematics course that prepares students for advanced study in science, business, social sciences, health fields, and other data-driven areas. The course is equivalent to an introductory, non-calculus-based college statistics course.
Students learn how to ask statistical questions, collect and organize data, analyze patterns and relationships, use probability and simulation, and draw conclusions from data. Topics include sampling and experimental design, probability distributions, statistical inference, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression analysis.
Throughout the course, students use technology, investigations, problem solving, and written explanations to analyze real-world data and justify their conclusions. The course follows the College Board AP Statistics curriculum and prepares students to take the AP Statistics exam in the spring.
