The Engineering Technology pathway introduces students to the engineering design process through hands-on problem solving, technical drawing, modeling, and project-based learning. Students explore a variety of engineering concepts and career fields while developing skills in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, mathematics, design, and technical communication.
As students progress through the pathway, they apply engineering principles to increasingly complex design challenges involving structures, mechanical systems, motion, forces, and electrical concepts. Students create and refine technical drawings and models, work individually and collaboratively to solve real-world problems, and maintain a portfolio demonstrating their growth and mastery of engineering skills.
The pathway culminates in a Work-Based Learning experience, where students apply their academic and technical skills in authentic workplace or internship settings, strengthen employability skills, explore engineering careers and postsecondary opportunities, and prepare for future education and careers in engineering and related technical fields.
