Happy Friday!

P6 Assembly

Thank you to P6 pupils for leading the assembly yesterday.  On 21st February we celebrated International Mother Language Day. Did you know we speak 19 languages at Central!

International Mother Language Day has been observed every year on 21 February since the year 2000. It was created by the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.

“Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our tangible and intangible heritage.”

World Book Day

We are excited for World Book Day on Thursday, 7th March  Children can come dressed as they wish to celebrate the day.  This may be a costume connected to a character, casual clothes or school uniform if they prefer.

Water Bottles

We encourage children to bring a water bottle with them every day. Adequate water intake in children will keep them hydrated, improves blood circulation🩸 and brain functioning🧠. Water bottles should not contain any sort of juice, just water.

Stay, Strong Free

Children moving on to P1 in August 2024 will take part in Safe, Strong and Free workshops in March/April. Children will attend three interactive puppet workshops to teach them strategies that will help them stay safe if they encounter bullying, an approach from a stranger, or an unwanted/inappropriate approach from an adult they know. Each child will receive a storybook which enable families to reinforce the key messages at home.

Home School Partnership Learning

As part of The Scottish Government's 1+2 language initiative, P5 - P7 children learn British Sign Language.

P6 would like to teach our community how to sign numbers  1-10. Please watch the video
