The final day of the course was a perfect blend of reflective learning, practical application and cultural immersion. The morning sessions were focused on consolidating the content covered throughout the week, with special emphasis on how to adapt the methodologies and activities explored to different teaching contexts.
We worked in groups to design short teaching sequences that combined language development with cultural content. Each group presented their proposal, which led to a rich exchange of ideas and teaching practices. The feedback sessions were especially valuable, as they allowed us to see how the same principles could be applied in diverse classroom settings and levels.
In the second part of the morning, we participated in a session on formative assessment in language learning, exploring tools and strategies that support continuous learning without creating unnecessary pressure on students. We discussed rubrics, self-assessment techniques and the integration of peer feedback, all within a communicative and supportive framework.
The afternoon took a festive and deeply cultural turn with the celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day, a unique opportunity to experience a key event in Irish identity. The organizers invited us to participate in traditional activities such as music, storytelling and even a short dance workshop, creating an atmosphere of joy and connection. Some of us also wore green accessories and shared photos to mark the occasion.
This cultural immersion allowed us to better understand the symbolic and emotional significance of the day for the Irish people, and to reflect on how cultural experiences can become a meaningful part of language learning.
We ended the day — and the course — with a final group reflection and the sharing of personal insights. Each participant expressed how the experience had contributed not only to their professional development but also to their cultural awareness and personal growth.
