We began the course with a warm and engaging session on Irish culture. In small groups, we brainstormed associations such as traditional music, shamrocks, leprechauns, rugby, pubs, and the Celtic roots of Halloween. To foster group connection, we played ice-breaking games like “cutting the tree” and a rotating name-memory challenge.
Using Mentimeter, we discussed and challenged common stereotypes about Ireland and reflected on real social issues such as housing, poverty, and inclusion.
We were then introduced to the Project Zero Thinking Routines Toolbox, using the routine “I see, I think, I wonder” to explore historical and cultural images from Ireland.
The day concluded with a multicultural food-sharing event and a walking tour of central Dublin, enriching our cultural immersion and bonding with other participants.
