On the second day, we focused on the attention economy, ubiquitous technology, and persuasive design. We analyzed the value of our online time, studying how technology companies extract our continuous attention for profit.
We explored the concept of persuasive design, examining the techniques incorporated into digital technology that capture our attention and induce certain online behaviors.
Furthermore, we conducted practical activities in class to identify the persuasive and extractive features of the social media applications and platforms we use most frequently.
To conclude the morning, we initiated our first experiment, focused on becoming aware of our daily digital habits.
In the afternoon, we took part in our first cultural activity with the rest of the academy's students. We visited the National Archaeological Museum.
The National Archaeological Museum is the largest museum in Greece. Originally destined to receive all the 19th century excavations, it gradually was enriched with finds from all parts of the Greek world.
