Parents: It's Friday! As you know, there is no new work here today, because we are setting 4 days' work to take into consideration the fact that most pupils will have spent a day in school this week. They need to make sure that they have completed the 4 days' work by the end of today. Have they read Millions? Have they completed every focus task? Have they defeated the German virtual escape room?

If they have not been in school, then today they can start with their Eisteddfod homework competitions. There are points for competing in every competition. Right at the bottom of this page, you will find all the instructions for next week in English. Full details for the various competitions are in the relevant Google Classrooms.

Parents: Arrangements for next week.

Pupils will compete in our virtual Eisteddfod and Sports' Day each day next week 6-10 July.

We expect that most pupils will be in school for one day.

This means that the majority of pupils will complete Eisteddfod and Mabolgampau tasks for the 4 days they are at home. If pupils are not returning to school, they will need to do 5 days of competitions.

For each day they are home, pupils will need to compete on:

• At least 2 Eisteddfod homework tasks

• At least 3 Mabolgampau tasks

Performance tasks are optional ... but points mean prizes!

Here are all the Eisteddfod competitions ...

Pupils need to complete 2 competitions a day between 6-10 July.

Write a poem on the theme of 'Deffro' (Waking / Awakening).

Create a short film on the theme 'Cyfrifoldeb amgylcheddol' (Environmental responsibility).

HANES

Create a short film on any historical location of your choice.

GERMAN

Create a video / poster / slides presenting yourself in German and mentioning what you like / don't like, and why. You could also mention in the past tense what you have done. Pupils should use the resources on this website to check the accuracy of their work.

IT

Create a Scratch game that uses a maze

ART

Painting without paint. PUpils need to recreate a famous painting, but using everyday materials and objects. There is a choice of 3 famous paintings to recreate. Pupils must work through the PDF above before they start thinking about this competition.

DT

Design a Lego man or woman who is a new hero or heroine. This needs to be someone who has worked beyond expectations over the last few months.

FOOD AND NUTRITION

Bake 6 cupcakes and decorate them on the theme of heroes

DRAMA

Write a dialogue between 2 friends at the beginning of lockdown.

BUSINESS

Design a the front page of a website for any business of your choice.

Pupils can compete in as many or as few of these as they wish. All entries must be filmed and entered into the relevant Google Classroom.

Lip sync to any Welsh song

Solo dance to any Welsh song

Monologue using the lyrics of any Welsh song

Imitating / mimicking any member of staff

The Mabolgampau (Sports' Day) poster above explains to your child what they need to do. They must attempt at least 3 competitions per day. They can go as quickly or as slowly as they wish! All evidence needs to be entered into the relevant Google Classroom. Good luck!
