Instructions for Parents for today's featured task:

Today's featured task to be submitted through Google Classroom is a Welsh task, which will be completed in Google Docs.

Your child needs to complete a series of 'treiglo' exercises. Treiglo are linguistic mutations that happen in Welsh. Today's exercises are all soft mutations (treiglad meddal). Your child will have had countless lessons on treiglo, including in primary school. They are not always easy.

1. They need to have the treiglo grid from their school handbook (llawlyfr) in front of them.

2. First exercise is soft mutations after dy (your) - fruit and yoghurt presentation above

3. Second exercise is soft mutations in feminine nouns after "y" or " 'r" - roses presentation

4. To work out if a noun is feminine, and therefore needs to treiglo, pupils will need to check in a dictionary. Number 4 above, in Welsh for pupils, explains with a screenshot, how to find out the gender of a word in the online dictionary.

If you do not speak Welsh, this will not make much sense to you. Do not worry. Your child can just do their best. They should be OK!

Parents: Having listened to the intro to Peter und der Wolf in German, pupils need to link the characters and instruments in Welsh, and then do the same in German. As you can see, many of the words look familiar!
They can do this on paper. There will be one final Peter and the Wolf task next week - a focus task, taking in all this week's lessons.

Parents: This is a humanities task to understand the impact of plastics on our oceans and wildlife.
Pupils need to log into S4C Clic, as usual, to watch the clip. They should have an account by now, because they have a programme to watch every day. After watching the clip (11 mins) they need to complete the quiz. The quiz is live until 1 May. Pupils may complete it more than once to improve their scores.

Today, or over the weekend, speak with someone about how life has changed since they were young. You may like to speak to someone in your household, or you may wish to phone another family member, a grandparent, an aunt or uncle. Record this conversation if possible, so you can re-listen.
You might like to discuss the following:

• How has school changed since your family member was young?

• How has technology changed?

• Does your relative think that things have changed for the better?

• Have we, as a society, become too reliant on technology?

Once you have had this discussion, write a few notes or paragraphs on paper about the discussion. You might like to write about the topics covered in your conversation, and whether you were surprised by what your relative said. Do you agree or disagree with them?
