Here are this week's new vocabulary files. Following feedback from parents who would like more difficult work for their child, we have differentiated the files for pupils from this week onwards.

Your child should choose a level and use these files all week to learn the vocabulary and patterns off by heart. They need to know the pronunciation, meaning and the spelling. This is the first day to learn these words.

Today's English task follows on from the work with yesterday's mind map. If you did not complete yesterday's work, it is below for you to see.

1. Today you should develop your mind map entitled ‘The Sea’ further, by sharing your ideas with a family member or a friend online. After sharing your ideas, you can then add to your mind map.

2. You should then look at images of the sea for inspiration. You can search for your own images, or start with these:

For today’s English task, you should create a mind map entitled ‘The Sea’.
You should think about what the sea means to you.
Also ask yourself: What are the other things associated with the sea?
You should use your initial thoughts to springboard your ideas.
For example, ‘plastic’ could lead to ‘pollution’ which could then lead to ‘dirty’ or ‘humans’. An example of a mind map has been provided to give you an idea of what your own mind map could look like.

Last week, we started new arrangements for Maths. By now, pupils have completed all the tasks in the booklet, therefore we need a different approach.

Three times a week, pupils will have a maths quiz on different maths topics in Google Forms, in their Google Classroom. The other two days they will practise their times tables and complete a tables task in Google Classroom. Today is a timestables day! As you see above, they can focus on the best level for them.
