Module 1
We have enjoyed starting our new school and exploring our new classroom and outside learning space. We are making new friends, taking turns and sharing resources. We are learning the school rules and what is expected of us when working in and around the school.

The Colour Monster - We listened to the story 'The Colour Monster'. We used the book to help us to talk about our feeling and why we may feel a certain way. We then used different media to re-create the jars for the monster, talking about our feelings while we did.
DM 3-4 - Talk about their feelings using words like ‘happy’, ‘sad’, ‘angry’ or ‘worried’. - Understand gradually how others might be feeling.
Family and friends
The past 2 weeks we have been looking at our families and our friends. We have explored characteristics of both and developed some lovely artwork showcasing this.
DM- (3-4) Begin to make sense of their own life-story and family’s history. Continue developing positive attitudes about the differences between people.
(Reception) Talk about members of their immediate family and community. Name and describe people who are familiar to them.

Jigsaw - Celebrating Differences
In circle time we talked about what we are good at and what our friends are good at. We identified what makes us proud. We understand that it is ok to be good at different things and that is what makes us unique.
