We used our knowledge of the story to retell and sequence the story, using the repeated phrases. We used our story knowledge to sequence the story on a story map.

Mystery Reader
We have welcomed some of our adults as our mystery readers this module. We need to read and try and work out who it is going to be before they arrive. We love having our parents visit the classroom to share a book.

Welcoming visitors
We welcomed visitors in the class to support our line of inquiry into life cycles. We asked questions to the parent visitors about the babies / toddler. We also shared our knowledge about growing up.

Our Pets
We enjoyed sharing our photos from home and talking about our pets as part of our learning. We asked and answered questions about our pets.

World Book Day
We enjoyed World Book Day! We came to school in our pyjamas or in character costumes. We did lots of book sharing, reading inside and outside and we loved playing guess the mystery reader!
We started our class library lending service in our 40 reads. We get to choose a book to come home with us each week to share with family at home.

Using non-fiction books
We have enjoyed using non-fiction books to find out information about minibeasts. We recorded and shared the new facts we found out. We learnt that non-fiction books tell us facts and information and how to use a contents page.

Developing our vocabulary
Each week we focus on learning new words linked to our line of inquiry and our every day conversations. This module we have focused on our communication to share our ideas together. Sometimes we need to tell the class what our partner has told us, so we need to make sure we listen carefully and take turn in conversations.

Finding out about Space.
We have loved our week on space. We like to share the non-fiction books about space and share our ideas with others.
Listening, Attention and Understanding • Listen attentively and respond to what they hear with relevant questions, comments and actions when being read to and during whole class discussions and small group interactions. • Make comments about what they have heard and ask questions to clarify their understanding. • Hold conversation when engaged in back-and-forth exchanges with their teacher and peers.

Maps and Globes
Our Inquiry this module is to explore places which are different and similar to Hoo. We enjoyed learning about what maps and globes are used for. We could find different places our families are from and where we have visited.
