Our 7th graders enjoyed a wonderful camp experience at Camp MacLean.  I hope they came home telling you all about what they did… My guess is that many of them told you about the food, which is always a treat!  Other activities they participated in included an adventure course, climbing wall, archery, fishing, gaga ball, and other GMS traditions like capture the flag.  A huge thank you to the teachers who helped make this trip possible for our students! 

The PTA's Raise Craze Fundraiser was a HUGE success, both in the money that was raised and the acts of kindness that were shared throughout GMS and our community!  Thank you, PTA!!!!

Boys' Soccer - The soccer seasons are coming to a close. Good luck to the Boys' Varsity Soccer team who will be playing in the Tournament for the Little Nine Conference TOMORROW (Saturday morning)! The Boys' JV team will have their final two games next week!  

Morton Grove Fire Department - Tomorrow the MGFD is hosting an OPEN HOUSE from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Fire Station #4 - 6250 N. Lincoln Ave. See this flyer for more information. 

As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 9th. 

FYI - On Monday, October 9th, TruGreen will be applying lawn fertilizer and treatment. The application will provide food, nutrients, deter weeds and promote a healthier lawn.  Any questions related to the specific products, please send an email to Daniel Barrie, Director of Buildings and Grounds at dbarrie@golf67.net.

Parent-teacher conferences will be on Thursday, October 19th from 2:20-8:00 PM and Friday, October 20th from 8:30-11:30 AM. 

District 67 Foundation - Join the D67 Foundation at the meeting on Wednesday, October 11th at 6:00 pm in the Media Center at GMS. This is an IN-PERSON meeting! 

The next sports season is Girls’ Varsity and JV Basketball.  Tryouts are JUST AROUND THE CORNER. As a reminder, the girls MUST have an up-to-date Physical on file in order to tryout.  If you have any questions here are your contacts:

Safety Drills - This week we conducted our severe weather drill and next week we will conduct our evacuation drill with the Morton Grove Fire Department. As I said last week, I encourage you to review your safety procedures at home as well, especially as some middle schoolers arrive home before their parents. It's good for them to know what to do in the event of an emergency.
