Creating a Folder in Canvas:
1) Log into canvas and navigate to the class you would like to create a folder in
2) Click on “Files” on the far left menu
3) In the right corner of your screen, you will see two buttons: 1 that is blue and says “+Upload” the other that is tan and says “+Folder” click on the one that says “+Folder”
4) A box will now appear in the center box under “name” where you are able to name your folder. Click the check mark to save the folder.
To Upload files directly to this folder:
1) Click on the folder name
2) Then click the blue “+Upload” button in the top right corner
3) You can add your files directly into the folder by selecting them from your computer and clicking the blue “Add file” button
*Don’t forget that if you are uploading multiple files you can save time by checking the white box that appears to the left of the file when you place your mouse on the file name in your computer
To add files to a module:
1) Click on “modules” in the far left menu.
2) Go to the module you are looking to upload a file to. If you are first creating a new module, click on the blue +Module button in the top right corner.
3) In the row of the module name where you want to add your file, click on the plus sign.
4) In the box that pops up on your screen, click on the box next to where it says add and select “files” from the menu that appears.
5) Locate the folder name that the file is under
6) Click on the file you would like to upload
*Don’t forget that If you are selecting multiple files, you can save time by pressing the Control button on your keyboard and holding it while you click each file you would like to upload
