Numeracy involves skills that aren't always taught in the classroom – the ability to use numbers and solve problems in real life. It means having the confidence and skill to use numbers and mathematical approaches in all aspects of life.
What does it mean to be good at numeracy?
To be good at numeracy means you understand basic math like addition, subtraction, division and multiplication and you are able to use this maths in your workplace and your day to day life. More advanced numeracy skills incorporate the use of graphical, statistical and algebraic concepts and the ability to interpret that data and apply it to real-world situations in order to evaluate different solutions for a complex problem.
How does it link to communication?
Numeracy involves students recognising and understanding the role of mathematics in the world and having the knowledge to use mathematical knowledge and skills purposefully and communicating different information & data which may involve numeracy.
Data analysis, sometimes you may have to look at data and see what this is telling you and how you can use this to improve positive opportunities.
Measuring, this could be knowing how much materials you need, measurements needed to complete a fished product or even understanding trends and looking at data and measuring against different years.

Using numbers within all of your college courses to complete your projects and assessments.
why is this good for your Career?
Using basic Math and number is important for all careers from hair dressing, construction, finance, admin and more! We need to communicate through numeracy to complete final tasks, projects and to look at different data to help improve the workplace.
