This is when you are aware or conscious of what is happening around you, your thoughts and other people. This then means you treat all colleagues and people around you equally and fairly. It is a way to also manage stress and anxiety.
What does it mean to be a mindful person?
If you are mindful you are aware of what you are thinking about and how you are feeling. This in turn can help to get rid of anxiety or conflict as you are more aware of the consequences of your own action. If you are mindful you respond to situations having taken the time to consider how your reaction or behaviour will achieve what you really want.
Make sure you take your breaks, its sometimes easy to get caught up on a project and forget but taking time for your breaks can help you to refocus when you come back to that task.
Be open minded, mindfulness can help you to move out of your comfort zone because you feel more relaxed. When you say yes to new opportunities this can provide you with the space valuable skills and knowledge.
Get better sleep This can help you to feel refreshed and help with productivity levels and to reduce your stress.
Meditation and breathwork, This requires you to focus on your breathing and become aware of your thoughts without attaching judgment to them; being more in tune with yourself can help you make wiser decisions about your life.
Make sure you take some time for breaks throughout the day, go outside and get fresh air and natural light- even in winter. This can help you to feel refreshed and have time to settle your mind. Giving yourself time to have breaks on your own gives you some time to think and check in with how you are feeling.
Why is this good for your career?
